Who am I?

It’s not easy to answer that question, or maybe it is. In my real life, my name is Alberto Porta and I’m a PhD researcher in Game Studies. I’m a huge fan of cozy and slow games, but I also enjoy investigating childhood avatarship in some video games, like Boku No Natsuyasumi (ぼくのなつやすみ, Millennium Kitchen, 2000). Inside a ludofictional world —even in this blog— I’m just a kid, like Boku, who wants to answer questions about life and make sense of the actions and thoughts of adults.

This is a virtual space where I hope to save and share all my open-access papers, chapters, and books about Bokunatsu and Bokunatsulike games, but also my slow and non-violence games results. There are a few other “kids” who play with me (thanks!), and I’ll always introduce them when necessary.

Finally, I want to confess English is not my native language (you probably suspected it), but I’m trying to improve my writing skills with this project. So please, don’t be mad at my English!
